Russian universities listed among the most international universities in the world

Times Higher Education has released its list of the most international universities in the world. The ranking table includes 170 universities from 32 countries all around the world. Russia has six universities among the best universities in terms of their exposure to the international research and academic environment, four of which are Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100 participants.
Tomsk State University Russia’s highest-ranked institution at number 103. The ranking table also features three other Project 5-100 universities: Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (119th position), Novosibirsk State University (143th position) and National Research University Higher School of Economics (150th position).
Project 5-100 universities have improved their positions over the past year: Novosibirsk State University scales up 18 positions, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology climbs up 17 places, National Research University Higher School of Economics has improved its position by 12 places.
Lomonosov Moscow State University (104th position) and Saint-Petersburg State University (155th position) have also made it to this year’s list.
The ranking was compiled using four indicators: proportions of international students and staff, international co-authorship score, and international reputation metrics collected for the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020.
The global top-10 features six universities from Great Britain and Hong Kong (three from each country), and four universities from Singapore and Switzerland (two from each country).
